Winner Creek Trail

This was our longest hike with both boys to date! They did so well on the 5 mile trail and I really can hardly believe it. It's just the beginning, they have many more hikes ahead of them!

I never tire of this sight! These boys love their daddy!

Going to the park

If there is one thing that I've learned about my boys, it's that they need to be outside. Their love for playing outside truly helps them expend their energy (which they have a lot of) like nothing else. I like giving them new things to discover and in Alaska there is plenty of new all around us. Yesterday we went to a new to us park up the road with our friends/neighbors, the George's. We had so much fun and I actually remembered to bring the camera and I was so happy I did!

Declan, Justin, and Joshua hangin on the tire swing. They loved it!

Ian and Brianna checking out the hand/paw prints under the slide.

We packed a picnic and had lunch outside. Notice Declan waiting patiently for his cheese as Laura unwraps it. He is a cheese fiend!

A Cheesy Victory!

Little D being a bit of a poser.

Peek a Boo!

Giddy up, little cowboy! He cracks me up!

A little cheesy grin from Ian, a rare occurrence!

At least D will hold some one's hand, today it was Justin.

Playing in the rain

When it rains in Alaska, which it has been doing a lot more this summer, the kids just have to be a little more adventurous. They don their rain coats and head outside. Either that or drive me crazy inside for too many days in a row! I love that a little rain doesn't stop us from having some fun outside!

Ian: the photographer

So, yesterday I was downloading some pictures off my camera and Ian desperately wanted to take a picture so I let him. This is the result and I will definitely encourage him as much as possible. Who knows, maybe this will be one of his gifts. I love seeing the interests of my little guys grow.

Camping by the Little Susitna

Last weekend we went with the Pearsalls to camp and fish at the Little Susitna. I was our first camping experience this summer and I'm totally regretting doing it more! We had so much fun!

Is that Ryan talking to Indiana Jones? Oh, nope that's Aaron Pearsall, a really great guy!

Do you see the excitement on Ian's face. He finally got the whole casting thing down and was so proud!

Jackie Pearsall caught the first fish of the day and it was a little creepy looking!

My man caught me a fish! I am so proud of him!

Ian's smiling only because we need to show Grandpa that his little fisherman is ready for him to come up to AK!

Mr. Cheesey strikes again!

My die-hard fishermen at work!

Just Like Daddy, almost.

Real Alaskan Women! (Cherie Taylor, Me, and Jackie Pearsall)

I'm sure Declan was telling Jackie something about poop. It's his favorite subject.

I'm being good, honest! Look how well I'm sitting here!

South Fork Hike

Despite the rain/cooler weather Ryan and I decided to take the boys for a hike on the South Fork trail in Eagle River. It was absolutely beautiful and we will definitely be hiking this trail again hopefully with better weather!

Ian took this picture of us. He loves taking pictures and was so proud of himself!

My guys! I love them so!

Yummy Cliff bars!

Fun Stuff

Ever since the boys and Ryan watched the "Fabulous Mr Fox", Ryan and Declan have this thing they do back and forth. I love it and I finally caught it on video during a hike around Beach Lake. He is such a ham!
